We're looking for a Barista/Coffee Shop Worker to join our unique coffee shop in Mauchline, the Snug.
We have a real passion to bring quality local, organic and ethical food to our community - all washed down with an amazing cup of Mossgiel Blend Coffee.
If you have experience in speciality coffee and catering, an absolute passion for top tier customer service with a drive to show just what you can do when empowered with the very best local food - we want to hear from YOU.
What’s the job like?
The Snug is a very special and unique place – it was our first coffee shop and where we cut our teeth in speciality coffee. One day it can be super busy then the next pretty quiet, but there’ll always be something to do. Daily tasks vary from serving tables, preparing food, making specialty coffee ‘just right’ and making sure cleaning is done to the highest standard.
The good bits?
- We provide you training for food hygiene and barista level coffee training! We can also offer a progression to SQA in cooking and baking through our apprentice programme too!
- You work in a close team with a short communication for feedback.
- You receive unique discounts on any local and organic food we sell AND a free pint of milk each day from our dairy.
The bad bits?
- It can be VERY busy at times – with 2 people on shift the norm, you will need to be flexible in your tasks. You may be making multiple coffees, helping in the kitchen and clearing tables one after the other in quick succession with a shop full of customers
- After a busy shift there is quite a bit of cleaning to be done; we put very high standards on ourselves and everyday has a thorough clean down process that everyone mucks in with to get done.
- At Mossgiel, we have a strict policy on the term ‘that’s not my job’ – in fact, it’s BANNED. We are a team of peeps wanting to give something very special to our community and we all work together to make it happen.
The position will allow you to max out your creative – working with our dedicated team to create weekly specials, showcasing what we do on social media and bringing fresh vibes to our vision
