Organic certification at Mossgiel
Organic is not just a word on our bottle. It is a farming system backed by standards, inspection and independent certification.
What certification means
Mossgiel and the organic family farms in our dedicated milk pool work to independently certified organic standards. Those standards cover how land is managed, how animals are cared for, what they are fed and how records are kept.
Certification adds an external check to the commitments we make. Farms are inspected, evidence is reviewed and organic status must be maintained.
Why it matters
Clear standards
Organic rules provide a defined framework for farming, animal welfare and care for the land.
Independent checks
Certification is assessed outside Mossgiel, giving customers confidence that organic claims are verified.
Traceability
Records connect the milk in each Mossgiel batch to the certified farms that supplied it.
Current certificates
Mossgiel Farm and Mossgiel’s organic processing operation are inspected separately, so each has its own current certificate and scope.
Organic farm certificate
SOPA certificate S1267, issued in September 2026.
Organic processing certificate
Soil Association licence DA32094 for Mossgiel Limited. Issued 28 November 2025 and valid until 31 October 2026.
We review these documents before expiry and replace them when new certificates are issued.
Our farming network today
The main Mossgiel range comes from four organic family farms: Wester Manbeen, Milton of Connage, Auchlea and West Mossgiel. Gold comes only from Mossgiel Farm. We work with the four farms because of how they farm and the values we share.
Certification is one part of that relationship. We also look for shared commitments to animal welfare, responsible land management and honest traceability.
