Mossgiel organic cream, turned into brilliant Scottish butter by the folk at Wee Knob of Butter. Our salted butter gets its finish from Blackthorn Salt, made just a few miles from our dairy in Ayr.

Three good things behind every wee knob
It starts with Mossgiel
Good butter does not need a shopping list of tricks. It needs really good cream and somebody who knows what to do with it. Ours starts with organic Mossgiel cream, full of the flavour that makes our milk different.
Made for us by Wee Knob
Wee Knob of Butter combine French butter-making heritage with excellent Scottish ingredients. They make our own-label organic butter for us, with the skill, patience and attention it deserves.
Blackthorn, just down the road
For our salted butter we use Blackthorn Scottish sea salt. It is made in Ayr from 100% west coast seawater, using their remarkable thorn tower and the Ayrshire wind. That makes this a proper local collaboration.
What should you do with it?
Put it thickly on warm bread. Melt it over new potatoes. Fold it into baking. Fry mushrooms in it. Or put it anywhere margarine has no business being.
Stock varies between delivery partners and shops, so check with your local Mossgiel stockist before making a special trip.
