A typical Mossgiel supporter doesn't buy 'what' we do; they buy 'why' we do it. Any dairy can play around and sell non-homogenised milk - they can even do it organically AND Put it in a glass bottle.

In fact a HUGE Scottish dairy does it, but hardly anyone buys it and NO-ONE puts a picture of their milk on Instagram becuase the flavour blew them away or they love what they stand for. To them, it's just milk that's a bit different.

What we have is not 'just' another kind of cow's milk - our uniqueness comes from our story, our history and our WHY!

3 key points of our why:

- Small farms rock; we need to save them -

Mossgiel Organic Milk comes from 5 organic family farms in SW Scotland. We don't want to keep cows in a shed all year round just so we can produce as much milk as possible, we want to enhance biodiversity, create usstainable local rural economies, and change dairy from the soil up. That's why we work with these small-scale farms and ensure true traceability from grass to glass.

- Milk is a superfood, we don't want to ruin it -

All mega-dairies fast pump milk in a high flow pasteuriser, adjust how much cream is in the milk (so they can keep some for extra profits) then blast it through a homogeniser to make it look nice in a bottle without the cream floating.

Our brewing process is a little more unique.

We designed our own HUGE versions of bain maries and use a renewable technology to drive down our emissions while ensuring that the milk retains its natural nutrition and flavour.

Then, due to our unique design, we've been able to ensure that it's delivered to you with a MINIMUM of 7 days shelf life.

- We need to do our bit for the planet -

Dairy farming gets a bad rap - burping cows, high water use & heavy energy use are all attributed to dairy by the media. We want to stop this systematic blame culture, showing that dairy can be truly sustainable.

That's why we have a passion to be the first truly net zero by 2025 - we use renewable tech to brew our milk, 60% of our delivery fleet is electric and we ONLY work with organic family farms who refuse to use GM feeds, chemical crop sprays or synthetic fertilisers.

It doesn't stop there - we banned single use plastics from our packaging back in January 2019, becoming the UK's first to do so and saving or 16 MILLION pieces of single use plastic since!
