In 2022, Mossgiel’s Cow-With-Calf Milk won Gold and was named Small Producer winner at the Scottish Retail Food and Drink Awards.
A proud moment for Mossgiel
The award recognised the milk produced from the Mossgiel Farm herd and the work behind our calf-with-cow approach. It followed a Gold award for our whole milk in 2021.
This is a dated record of the 2022 result. Our farming and milk-supply model continues to develop, but the achievement remains an important part of Mossgiel’s story.
What made the entry distinctive
Organic farming
The milk was produced to certified organic standards.
Calf with cow
The Mossgiel herd’s calf-rearing approach was central to the entry.
Natural character
The milk was non-homogenised, non-standardised and sold in reusable glass bottles.

Awards are never the work of one person. This recognition belonged to the farm team, everyone who helped get the milk to customers, and the people who chose to support a different approach to dairy.
