Where Our Milk Comes From
Our main milk range comes from four organic family farms: Wester Manbeen, Milton of Connage, Auchlea and West Mossgiel. Gold comes only from Mossgiel Farm.
It starts with real farms, real cows and people who care about how food is produced.
It starts with the farm
Mossgiel Farm in Ayrshire is where our approach began. It is where we chose to leave the conventional dairy supply chain and build a different way forward, centred on organic farming, animal welfare and milk with a clear connection to the farms behind it.
As Mossgiel has grown, that purpose has grown beyond one farm.
Standards that matter
Organic farming
Every farm follows independently certified organic standards and works with natural systems rather than against them.
Animal welfare
The farms we work with put the health and welfare of their cows at the centre of daily decisions.
Care for the land
Good soil, biodiversity and long-term stewardship matter because healthy farming depends on healthy land.
A dedicated pool of family farms
We work directly with four organic family farms: Wester Manbeen, Milton of Connage, Auchlea and West Mossgiel.
We work with them because of how they farm, how they care for their animals and land, and their commitment to a better future for organic dairy.
Working together gives good family farms a dependable route to market and helps Mossgiel serve more customers without losing sight of what the milk stands for.
Chosen for how they farm, not simply how close they are.
Traceability without shortcuts
We believe customers should know what sits behind their milk. Mossgiel works with a trusted group of farms, keeps direct relationships with the people producing it and maintains traceability back to the farms in our pool.
This is about more than sourcing. It is about helping small organic family farms remain viable, protecting the knowledge and care within those businesses, and keeping a meaningful connection between farming and food.
From pasture to bottle
It starts with cows grazing certified organic land and farmers who know their animals. Milk from the four farms is collected, recorded and kept traceable. At the dairy it is gently pasteurised and brewed rather than homogenised, so the cream is free to rise. Then it goes into reusable glass bottles, ready for doorsteps, shops and cafés before the empties come back to do it all again.
1. Farmed organically
Four family farms, independently inspected and working to certified organic standards.
2. Kept traceable
Each collection is recorded so the milk can be traced back to the farms behind it.
3. Brewed gently
Pasteurised and left non-homogenised, with the cream free to rise naturally.
