Mossgiel Organic Farm Press Pack
Story and mission
The Farm began in it’s current form 6 years ago, as the result of a crisis. The Milk price had collapsed, the supermarket that the Farm had a contract with lowered the buying price to £0.09 / L, and Robert Cunningham, Father to current owner Bryce Cunningham died suddenly of cancer. The Farm nearly went under.
Bryce took a decision to return to the old ways and approach the problem in the manner of his Grandfather. A local model had worked before, with the processing done on the Farm, so why not now?
Many years of struggle, hard work and innovation now sees the Farm employ 35 local people and process approx 2 million litres of Milk per year.
