Is non-homogenised Milk healthier for you?

Homogenised Milk is processed in such a way as to ensure that the cream never re-forms in it's natural state. No matter how long you leave a carton of homogenised Milk in the fridge, the cream will never rise to the top. The reason for this is basically supermarket marketing. If the cream rises to the top, it's very easy for consumers to work out which Milk has been sitting on the shelves for a while.

Non-homogenised Milk (sometimes it's referred to as unhomogenized Milk) is much simpler. It's in its natural state. The Milk is the Milk and the Cream is the Cream. The cream rises to the top because it's slightly less dense that the Milk is and that's just what happens when you have two liquid of differing density: the lighter one rises to the top. Non-homogenised Milk is therefore not processed as much as homogenized Milk is. If, like us, you consider that the less processing the better, then, yes, Non-Homogenised Milk is healthier then Homogenised Milk.
